Biographical note

Bruno Guerra
​
Born in Lisbon on December 24, 1982.
​
He attended Lisbon Superior School of Theatre and Cinema, course of “Set Design”, as a final internship he worked at the Piccolo theatre in Milan, having accompanied the work of the prestigious director Luca Ronconi and some of the stagings of Giorgio Strehler. Also Attended the Professional School of Theatre of Cascais.
​
Professionally he has worked in cinema, advertising, theatre and television as production designer, art director, set designer, costume designer and construction manager.
​
Recently in feature films, worked with director Tom Harper, in is latest film, Heart of Stone, a large production for Netflix. Working with the production designer; Charlie Wood, art director supervisor; Thomas Brown and Senior art director; Mike Stalion. In cinema advertising, he has worked with great directors such as: Diana Kunst and Eva Dolezalová, Georgia Hudson, Martin Werner, Koen Mortier, Joe Vanhoutteghem, James Gartner, Danny Sangra, Florian Giefer, Marco Grandia.

In 2023 advertising projects, worked together with the production designer Simone Gray Roney, as art director, in the award-winning film for the game, Merge Mansion. A production from Reaktor and Tantor Films.
​
Among his recent projects, made the art direction for Madonna video clip “Medellín” with the production of Object & Animal - Twentyfour-Seven.
​
In cinema advertising he also signed the art direction of several films, for brands such as BULGARI/ “Ómnia”. Production Anomaly - Ready to Shoot. MERCEDES/ “Box”. Production BWGTBLD Gmbh- SurFilm. WARNER BROSS/ “Harry Potter Wizards Unite”. Production Stink- Page international. ZALANDO/ “Don’t Change”. Production Grey- Twentyfour-seven. NIVEA/ “It Starts With a Touch”. BMW/ “Project DC”. On television with the directors; Fernando Ávila, João Gandarez and Nuno Garcia.

In theater with the directors; Carlos Avilez, Carlos Carvalheiro, Clovis Levi, Filipe La Féria, Marina Mota, Paulo Matos, Rui Ramos, Rui M Silva, among others.

In theater made set design, for “Severa the Musical” and “Ice Queen”, “Rapunzel”, with production theater Politeama. “Cultural Act”, “Camino Real”, “Margarida Appeared”, “Traffic”, “Ruin”, production Baal 17- Theatre Company.
​
On RTP television he developed the decors for “Depois Vai-se a Ver e Nada” and the “Game of All Games”- Productions from Warner Bross Portugal. Other projects carried out on television “Só Visto”, “Top Mais”, “Champions and Detectives”, “The Time Portal”, productions by Valentim de Carvalho Televisão and Coral Vision Europa.

Worked also in opera theatre projects, “Iphigenia in Tauris” directed by James Darrah and “Nabucco” directed by André Heller-Lopes - São Carlos National Theatre. “Os Mortos Viajam de Metro”, directed by Paulo Matos, production Teatro São Luiz, “Cosi Fan Tutte”, directed by Paulo Matos production CMS and Allgarve.

He taught as set and costume design professor, at EPAOE- Chapitô, Lisbon Art and Circus School, between the years 2006-2014.
Member of the Portuguese Society of Authors since 2018.
